Young Lesbian Gay Bisexual Trans Intersex Youth Studies and Solidarity Association (Young LGBTI+) has published its research report named “THE STATE OF THE LGBTI+ COMMUNITY DURING THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC RESEARCH REPORT”, which has been done to vocalize the experiences of LGBTI+ individuals and to make the effects of Covid-19 pandemic on them visible.
Between May and June 2020, 252 LGBTI+ individuals from 81 cities of Turkey has participated in the questionnaire that took place online. The work, which was supported by European Union Sivil Düşün Programme, consisted of experience collection of LGBTI+ individuals during the Covid-19 pandemic regarding health, accommodation, economy, mental health, social effects, education and violence.
Young LGBTI+ Association has also included suggestions on how to improve these experiences and support LGBTI+ individuals at the final section of the report. The association aims to create source material for those who work on the field, and to prompt decision makers.
